Lake Oswego Schools Foundation Day of Giving - April 29

Wednesday, April 29 is LOSF Day of Giving—a special opportunity for families, community members, and local businesses to come together in support of our students.

This year, we’re focused on participation, with a goal of reaching 75% at every school. When more families take part, it reflects the shared commitment that helps make our schools so strong.

For just $5—about the cost of a cup of coffee—you can be part of supporting what makes our schools great: our teachers.

Together, we can support our students, strengthen our schools, and celebrate the power of community. Thank you!

Can't remember if you already donated? Check out our latest list of 2025-26 donors here.

Participating in LOSF Day of Giving is one of the most powerful ways our community shows up for students. Every gift—no matter the size—helps keep programs strong and accessible for all. Even more, it sends a clear message to our teachers and students: you are supported, valued, and worth investing in.

Check out the graph above to see participation by school and help yours reach the 75% goal!

  • Your donation counts toward every school where you have a student enrolled. For example, if you have a student at River Grove and another at Lakeridge Middle School, your single gift supports both schools’ participation goals.
  • If you already made a pledge it will count towards your school's participation rate, however, you will not be included in donor reporting until your pledge has been fulfilled.

Be sure to check back after April 30 to see how your school’s participation has grown!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we doing a LOSF Day of Giving?
LOSF Day of Giving is an opportunity to come together as a community around a shared commitment to our schools. By focusing on one day, we can build energy, visibility, and momentum while inviting every family, community member, and business to take part.

This day is centered on participation—making it easy for everyone to be included and to show their support in a meaningful way. When more people participate, it reflects a strong, united community that values education and the success of every student.

What counts toward participation? Do I have to give on the actual day (April 29)?
Any donation or pledge made between July 1, 2025 and April 29, 2026 at midnight counts toward participation. Note that gifts made through your employer take time to reach us and be counted.

Why is LOSF focusing on participation instead of donation amounts for LOSF Day of Giving?
It’s true that the Foundation has an ambitious annual fundraising goal, but for LOSF Day of Giving, we’re intentionally setting that aside. This day is about giving every family, at any level, the opportunity to participate and see their gift—no matter the size—count in a meaningful way toward their school’s participation.

Broad participation reflects a strong, united community and helps show collective support for our schools. Our October Phone-athon, which is our largest fundraiser of the year, is when we focus more directly on gift size.

Why is the goal 75% participation and not 100%?
While 100% participation is an ideal, we recognize the reality that not every family is in a position to give each year. There are many reasons—financial, timing, or simply the realities of busy lives—that may make it difficult to participate right now.

If that’s the case for your family, please know we understand and there will be other opportunities in the future. You are an important part of this community, and your presence matters.

Reaching 75% participation is a meaningful and achievable goal that reflects strong, broad community support, while also honoring the fact that everyone’s situation is different.

Why does participation matter?
Participation shows that our entire community values strong schools. When more families give—even at a modest level—it demonstrates broad support for students, teachers, and programs across the district.

How do I know if I already gave?
Please check the list of 2025–26 donors HERE. If you don’t see your name, but gave through your employer, please note that it can take up to 60 days for those gifts to reach us. If you have made a pledge to this campaign, your name will appear when you have converted your pledge to a donation. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to foundation@loswego.k12.or.us.

Can grandparents/family members or teachers participate?
Yes, we love participation from grandparents, family members and, of course, teachers! To have their gift count toward a specific school, please have them include the name of the school (or schools) with their donation. They are welcome to specify more than one school.

I have children at more than one school. Do I have to choose just one?
No. Your donation will count toward participation at every school where you have a student enrolled. For example, if you have a student at River Grove and another at Lakeridge Middle School, your gift will count toward both schools.

Does the amount I give matter?
To count toward participation, a gift of any size makes a difference. Every contribution helps reflect strong community support for our schools.

When is LOSF Day of Giving?
LOSF Day of Giving takes place on April 29. Participation is counted through midnight that day.

How do I make a gift?
You can make a gift here. The process is quick and easy, and every gift counts toward your school’s participation.

Can I give more than once?
Yes. While participation is counted once per family at each school where you have students attending, additional gifts are always appreciated and continue to support our schools.

What if I give after April 29?
Gifts made after April 29 are still greatly appreciated and support our schools, but they will not count toward Day of Giving participation.

Do matching gifts count toward participation?
Yes. If your employer matches your gift, it will still count toward your participation. Please note that matching gifts may take time to be received and reflected.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The Lake Oswego Schools Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation and tax receipt via email after making your gift.
