We can't do what we do without the support of parents and community members like you.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, we truly can't meet our mission with your help. Your volunteer hours directly help students by ensuring we keep our costs as low as we can. We need your help to spread the word about the amazing work the Foundation does.

The Lake Oswego Schools Foundation is seeking a volunteer coordinator to help launch our first-ever volunteer campaign and support the recruitment and implementation of volunteers into all aspects of the Foundation. This individual (or individuals) can ideally commit to a year-long leadership role building and supporting a volunteer team to help execute on the mission and vision of the Foundation. This person will also oversee tracking volunteer hours and monthly distribution of volunteer opportunities.

New Family Welcome Packet Mailing August/September 2023
Building a community starts with a warm welcome. Help prepare the LOSF New Family Welcome Packet, an informational mailing that highlights the work of the Foundation. You’ll help organize, stuff and prepare these packets for mailing.

New Family Welcome Ambassadors Monthly 2023-24
New families join our school community every month. As a Foundation volunteer you can be one of the first to welcome them to the district and share how the Foundation works with a welcoming phone call to say hello. Donor Appreciation Party September 2023
Help us throw the biggest donor thank you party of the year! Each year we thank our Starkweather level donors for their generous contributions to the Foundation and the school district. Education Speaker Series School Year 2023-24
Launching in the Fall of 2023, the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation is kicking off a new speaker series to provide parents and families with learning opportunities about education in LOSD. Speakers will be Lake Oswego district teachers sharing their expertise across a variety of topics. Help create, plan and execute all aspects of this exciting new opportunity for parents and the community.

Foundation Day October 2023
It’s Foundation Day! Help plan and execute the first-ever Foundation Day at all six elementary schools. This awareness event is designed to bring attention to the Foundation and serve as a kickoff to a fundraising activity. Banners, balloons and volunteers will greet students and parents during drop-off and pickup, in a coordinated effort across the district.

Fall Phone-athon October 2023
The Lake Oswego Schools Foundation Phone-athon is a fall tradition and significant fundraising event for the organization. Join us as we make calls to district families reminding them about the foundation and accept their pledge or donation over the phone. Sign up to Host a New Family Coffee September - November 2023
Welcoming new families to the district is incredibly important. What better way to volunteer than to open your home and host a new family coffee session. These small coffee and pastry events bring new families, LOSF board members and district families together to learn more about the district and meet new friends. Coffee and pastries provided by the Foundation.

New Family Happy Hour November 2023
Can’t make coffee? Let’s try happy hour! Providing a variety of different experiences for new families to meet and mingle with LOSF board members and existing families is a great way to introduce the foundation and learn more about the district. Help plan and host a new family happy hour at a local restaurant.

Foundation Gala 2024
The annual Foundation Gala takes hundreds of hours to plan and create. Volunteer your skills, with event planning, raffle procurement, marketing, volunteer signup, interior design and more. Opportunities include project-based and day-of.

“Spring” Phone-athon February 2024
The Lake Oswego Schools Foundation Phone-a-Thon is a spring tradition and significant fundraising event for the organization. Join us as we make calls to district families reminding them about the foundation and accept their pledge or donation over the phone. This opportunity is available for three different nights.

Events Committee Meetings Ongoing
Join a Lake Oswego Schools Foundation committee as an ad-hoc member. The Events Committee is tasked with identifying, creating and executing multiple events each year, including the Gala, new family events and more. Bring your talents to the table and help us build out our events calendar vision.

Business Committee Meetings Ongoing
Join a Lake Oswego Schools Foundation committee as an ad-hoc member. The Business Committee is tasked with identifying and building partnerships with local businesses in Lake Oswego. Help create new ways of increasing engagement and fundraising with local companies looking to connect with the Foundation and school district.
